Manage company workspace access
Use the three master switches to enable the workspaces a company can use. Individual roles and module permissions continue to restrict access within enabled workspaces.
Set permissions when creating a client
The company and permissions are saved together, so restrictions apply from first access. Back to edit retains your selections. If all workspaces are off, company users need Super Admin to grant access before using a workspace. Permissions do not change the selected plan or billing amount.
- 1
Open Create Client in Super Admin and enter the company and admin details.
- 2
Choose the plan in Plan & billing.
- 3
Open Permissions and choose the company workspaces.
- - All three workspaces start enabled.
- - Each workspace includes all its modules by default.
- - Turn off workspaces the company does not need.
- 4
Expand Choose modules under a workspace to select individual modules.
- Use Select all or Deselect all for that workspace.
- Turning a workspace off retains your module selections.
- 5
Choose Review & create and check the company, plan and module counts.
Expand Review module selections to inspect individual permissions.
- 6
Select Confirm and create.
Wait for confirmation that the client was created.
Configure access as Super Admin
- 1
Open Super Admin > All Clients and select the client and company.
- 2
Open Permissions and find the Payroll, Management Accounts and Tax Tracking panels under Company workspace access.
- 3
Set Payroll, Management Accounts and Tax Tracking for the selected company.
- - Payroll covers HR, hiring, payroll and employee self-service.
- - Management Accounts covers accounting, registers, posting and reports.
- - Tax Tracking covers Tax Infobase, Tax Assistant and vendor/WHT functions.
- 4
Select the modules beneath each workspace.
- Use Select all or Deselect all for that workspace, then adjust individual checkboxes.
- The count shows how many modules are enabled.
- Turning a workspace off locks its module controls and keeps their saved selections.
- 5
Choose Review workspace changes and check the company name, workspace switches and module changes.
- 6
Select Confirm and save.
- Wait for Workspace access saved before leaving.
- If another administrator changed the settings, select Reload settings and review again.
Use enabled workspaces
The switches apply to the whole company, including consultants, on subsequent requests. Requests already running may finish. Disabling retains records and child module settings; re-enabling retains existing role and module restrictions. Changes do not adjust billing. Existing companies retain access until Super Admin changes these switches. To allow tax research only, enable Tax Tracking, choose Deselect all in that panel, then select Tax Infobase & personal tags and Tax Assistant. Leave Payroll and Management Accounts off if they are not required. Existing user restrictions are retained under Additional user restrictions (advanced); company selections never override them. Enable Source Intake & scanners alongside accounting registers that need uploads. A whole-register workbook requires all its register modules; use a selected-register upload when access is restricted.
- 1
Open Switch workspace and choose an enabled workspace.
- 2
If a workspace is disabled, ask your Super Admin to review Company workspace access.
Direct links and API requests remain blocked even when a child module is enabled.
Explore safely
In the self-guided demo, open Preview Super Admin workspace access controls. Select and deselect sample modules, then review and confirm to see the workflow. The demo keeps every workspace available and saves no changes.
