Management Accounts

Configure Management Accounts themes, currencies, and FX rates

Managed businesses may keep books in different currencies. WiseWage lets the parent company keep a group consolidation currency while each subsidiary or managed business keeps its own reporting currency.

01

Use the dashboard and period review

  1. 1

Open Management Accounts > Dashboard and select the company, business and accounting period.

  2. 2

    Review Financial performance & position.

    • Revenue and costs cover the selected period; cash, receivables, payables and inventory use fiscal-year-to-date posted entries, including recorded opening balances.
    • Each original currency is shown separately, without FX conversion or group eliminations. Use Backups & Reports for consolidated reporting.
    • Unposted transactions are excluded. No classified postings means no matching balance data, not a confirmed zero balance.
  3. 3

Use Needs attention or a module card to open the relevant records.

    • Customer and supplier counts describe the current master records.
    • e-Invoicing activity shows saved invoice statuses for the selected period.
    • Available output counts cover the report versions loaded in the workspace; stale outputs need regeneration.
  4. 4

Select Review period checks, or open Periods and select a period in the list.

  5. 5

    Open each outstanding review item.

    • The checklist follows the selected period; Chart of Accounts setup is shared across periods.
    • Superseded posting runs and stale or unvalidated outputs do not complete the respective checks.
    • All periods shows a prompt to select a period instead of a combined readiness result.
    • Approval still takes place in Posting & Approvals with its existing validation and confirmation steps.
  6. 6

Explore the same panels in the self-guided demo.

    • The figures are fictional.
    • Navigation is local, and record-changing actions remain simulated.
02

Choose workspace appearance

  1. 1

Open Management Accounts > Settings > General.

  2. 2

Select Light or Dark under Workspace appearance.

    • The display changes immediately; no Save general settings action is required.
    • The preference is remembered in this browser and applies only to Management Accounts, including activity pages, dialogs and notifications.
    • Your selected colour theme remains the accent. Exports and printed reports keep their existing styling.
    • In the self-guided demo, this is a temporary preview; no preference or company records are saved.
03

Choose the Management Accounts theme

  1. 1

Open Management Accounts > Settings, then select General.

  2. 2

Choose Ocean blue, Emerald, Violet, Amber, Lagoon teal, Rose, Midnight indigo, Slate grey, or Terracotta in Management Accounts colour theme.

Save settings to apply; regenerate report packs to use the new palette.

  3. 3

    Save the settings.

The selected palette applies only to the Management Accounts workspace for that parent company and to reports generated afterwards.

  4. 4

Regenerate an Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF Management Accounts report pack after changing the theme; previously generated files keep their existing styling.

04

Set currencies

  1. 1

Open Management Accounts > Settings, then select Currency & FX.

  2. 2

Set the Group consolidation currency for the parent company, such as NGN.

  3. 3

Select each managed business and set its reporting currency, such as USD.

  4. 4

Save the managed business currency before uploading and posting source files.

  5. 5

Open Settings > Tax defaults to maintain the default VAT rate and mode.

    • Choose No VAT when the business should not calculate VAT by default.
    • WiseWage saves the default rate as 0%; Invoice and Expense Register drafts keep net and gross equal with VAT amount 0.00 until a reviewer selects another VAT mode.
05

Maintain the FX rate register and period snapshot

  1. 1

    Select the period being reviewed.

  2. 2

Select the parent company, then choose the Company Code.

Its operating currency becomes the FX source currency and the group reporting currency is the target.

  3. 3

Enter the rate effective date and a clear source, such as CBN or Approved internal rate.

  4. 4

Enter the average rate for revenue and expense conversion.

  5. 5

Enter the closing rate for assets and liabilities.

  6. 6

Equity uses the closing rate; no separate historical rate is required.

  7. 7

Save the rate against that Company Code to create the period snapshot before generating the parent or group Management Accounts pack.

  8. 8

Use Edit beside a saved FX-rate register entry to correct its rates, effective date, or source while its period remains unapproved.

Legacy managed-business rates can be edited in the same register.

  9. 9

Once the period is approved and locked, its FX snapshot cannot be changed unless approval is rolled back.

06

How group packs use FX

Entity-level packs stay in the selected business currency. When the parent entity is selected and group outputs are generated, WiseWage combines posted GL entries across matching managed-business periods and converts non-parent currencies into the group consolidation currency.

  1. 1

P&L accounts use the average FX rate.

  2. 2

Assets and liabilities use the closing FX rate.

  3. 3

Equity uses the closing FX rate.

  4. 4

The generated workbook includes FX_Conversion and FX_Rates sheets for review support.
