Use the Management Accounts workspace

Management Accounts gives finance reviewers a controlled workspace for monthly accounts review. Company admins can work only inside their active company workspace, while Super Admins keep the separate portfolio view for all WiseWage clients.

Open the workspace

  1. 1Sign in through the Company Admin portal.
  2. 2Open the Management Accounts section near the top of the sidebar.
  3. 3Select Management Accounts.
  4. 4Open Customers, immediately before Chart of Accounts, to maintain the selected managed business customer master.
  5. 5Confirm the company and accounting period shown in the top selector before uploading or posting files.

Company and subsidiary scope

The company admin workspace is scoped to the active WiseWage company. Within that company, reviewers can create subsidiary or managed business entities for separate books, then switch between them inside Management Accounts.

  1. 1Use Companies & periods to create or select the managed business entity.
  2. 2Keep each entity's Chart of Accounts, source files, posting runs, diagnostics, and outputs separate.
  3. 3Download each entity's final Management Accounts when its period has been reviewed.
  4. 4Use group reporting outputs where the parent company needs a combined Management Accounts pack across managed entities.

Review workflow

  1. 1Prepare the selected managed business Chart of Accounts manually or through the COA template.
  2. 2Use Export COA when you need the saved account records back in the same COA import-template workbook format, including template columns, validation lists, and notes.
  3. 3Review the Chart of Accounts badge count for active unmapped COAs with no BS, P&L, or cash-flow classification selected.
  4. 4In the parent Group view, use the Managed company column after Status to identify which managed business owns each Chart of Accounts row.
  5. 5In the parent Group view, open Group account mappings to link each managed-business account to the standardized group account used in consolidated reports. Local charts of accounts remain unchanged; blank mappings should be resolved before final group reporting.
  6. 6Use the row checkboxes on Chart of Accounts to select COA records while reviewing or reconciling the list, and use Delete selected only after confirming the removal modal.
  7. 7Select at least one management classification to clear the setup badge.
  8. 8Download the monthly register or inventory tracker template from Source Intake.
  9. 9Upload completed source files and review diagnostics.
  10. 10Post operational registers to create GL entries. If the register contains new account codes, WiseWage creates placeholder Chart of Accounts records and shows a setup bubble on Chart of Accounts.
  11. 11Open Chart of Accounts and select the relevant BS, P&L, or cash-flow classification; the setup bubble clears once each placeholder has at least one classification.
  12. 12Review diagnostics, issues, classifications, and the trial balance, then approve the period when the accounting records are final.
  13. 13After approval, open Backups & Reports and generate or download the final backup workbook, Management Accounts Excel report pack, PowerPoint pack, or Executive Email Summary Draft.

Approval and file controls

Approval stamps the selected period as reviewed. Once approved, source removal is locked, generated files show Approved status, and only error-level diagnostics remain visible for review. Rolling back approval reopens the period and clears generated output file records so stale approved packs are not downloaded after correction starts.

  1. 1Use Approve period when the period is final.
  2. 2Use Rollback approval only when the period needs to be reopened for correction; complete the correction, approve again, and then regenerate the final output files.
  3. 3Download uploaded sources, backups, Excel report packs, PowerPoint packs, and Executive Email Summary Drafts from their workspace sections.
  4. 4Use confirmation modals before destructive or approval-changing actions.
